Five divisions on the gridiron over the weekend

The Orangeville Outlaws played a full slate of football over the weekend with mixed results. Three wins for O-ville teams and three losses.

 

Peewee:

 

The Peewee squad had their first second of the season when they hosted the TNT Express at Westside Secondary School.

O-ville lit up the board on a touchdown from Mitchell Price and got the extra two points on the convert from Nathan Falconi.

The Outlaws second TD came from Cody Tomlinson.

With a 14-6 lead late in the game, Falconi sprinted to the right and down the sidelines to score with less than two minutes remaining on the clock.

The final was 20-6.

The Peewees will be on the road for their next two games travelling to Etobicoke on June 28, then to Markham on July 5.

They return to Orangeville for a home game against Oshawa on Sunday, June 13, at Orangeville District Secondary School.

The kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

 

Atom:

 

The Atom squad hosted Markham at Westside Secondary School with an 11:30 a.m. start on Sunday, June 22.

After four quarters of hard played ball, the Outlaws had to settle for a 42-25 loss to the visitors.

The Atoms will be travelling to Toronto on Saturday, June 5, to take on the Metro Toronto Wildcats with a 9:00 a.m. start at Esther shiner Stadium.

 

Bantam:

 

The Outlaws Bantam team continues to be the one to watch this season.

The Bantams hosted the Toronto Green Jets at Westside Secondary school and delivered an 80-0 shut-out over the visitors.

The Bantams won the OMFL championship last year and have continued to be a dominating force in the League this season.

They are undefeated after five games and have scored 290 points for the season while allowing only 42 points against.

The Bantams have another home game this weekend.

On Sunday, June 29, they will host the second place TNT Express at Orangeville District Secondary School.

The Express have lost only one game this year and that was to the Outlaws back on May 25.

The Outlaws and Express met in the championship last season with the O-ville squad coming on top.

Game time is 12:00 p.m.

 

Junior Varsity:

 

It was a long trip, but in the end it was worth it for the Outlaws Junior Varsity team.

They travelled to North Bay on Saturday, June 21, to take on the Bulldogs and left with a 73-7 win over the hometown team.

The JV squad is undefeated for the season going five in a row without a loss and giving them a first place in the League standings – one ahead of the Cambridge Lions who have a 4-1 record.

They are one of the teams to keep an eye on this season to see if they can go to the OMFL chamionship for the second consecutive season.

The JVs have two road games scheduled – one in Waterloo on Sunday, June 29, and a second game in London on July 6.

They will be back in Orangeville for their final game of the regular season on Sunday, June 13, to host the TNT Express.

Game time is 3:00 p.m.

 

Varsity:

 

The Outlaws Varsity team remains in the middle of the pack after taking a 30-0 loss to the Niagara Spears in Niagara on Saturday, June 21.

The Varsity squad has a 2-3 record so far for the season and are currently in third place in the OMFL League standings.

Going on the road this weekend the Varsity team will travel to Vaughan to take on the Rebels.

They will return to Orangeville the following weekend when they will host the Cambridge Lions at Orangeville District Secondary School on Sunday, July 6.

Game time is 1:00 p.m.
