The Town of Orangeville has been awarded a contract for road construction on Faulkner and Gifford Streets to Oakville-based FCM Construction.
The first phase of reconstruction on Faulkner St. was set to start Monday (July 29) from Elizabeth St. to Broadway. The work is aiming to be completed over the next several weeks, with the final phase of asphalt being applied in the summer of 2020.
The project is includes reconstruction of sanitary, storm and water mains as well as the road, concrete curbs and sidewalks. Faulkner St. and portions of Zina St. will be affected by the construction and will only be open for local traffic. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternative route during the weeks of construction.
The construction on Gifford St. is expected to begin in mid-August. Residents on the street that will be affected will be permitted to park in the Seniors Centre parking lot until the construction is finished. That project is also expected to take six to eight weeks.
