On April 29, Hockley Valley Resort held its fourth annual Charity Spring Fashion Show, raising $26,875.00 for Bethell Hospice in Inglewood.
The evening began with a cocktail reception as guests viewed the silent auction items donated by over 60 generous vendors. A three-course farm-to-table dinner followed, while guests enjoyed the runway fashion show featuring local stores: L’Image Salon, Sasek’s Imports & Gift Boutique, Creek Side Clothing, Bloom Fashion Boutique, Shoe Kat Shoo, Chicaboom, Pazazz and Just Be Customized.
Hockley Valley Resort donated a Family Season’s Ski Pass for four, a Spa Day for two and then auctioned off a Private Dinner hosted at the winner’s home for six people with their new Chef, Roberto Fracchioni, as part of the fundraising effort.
Mark Grice, a Headwaters artist, painted a large ‘Vogue’ canvas during the course of the evening, and his work of art was auctioned off with 50% of the proceeds to the charity.
“Scotiabank is thrilled to provide matching funds through the silent auction proceeds to support such an essential resource in our community.
We are so fortunate to have Bethell Hospice in our own backyard – it is our absolute pleasure to assist with the fundraising efforts,” said Danila Maric, Customer Service Representative at Scotiabank.
“Bethell Hospice Foundation is so grateful to be the recipient of proceeds from this fabulous event. Community events, like the Hockley Valley Resort Fashion Show, enable us to keep the doors of Bethell Hospice open, and provide personalized, palliative care at no cost to residents, program participants and their families,” said J. Rob Collins, Co Chair & Secretary, Bethell Hospice Foundation.
“It was such a great night. A sold out, enthusiastic crowd enjoyed runway fashions and fun entertainment. With a nice mix of men and women in attendance, it was a record fundraiser for our Fashion Show series, and Bethell Hospice really spoke to the crowd. Their work is beyond measurable, and we are so proud to be handing over a cheque for $26,875.00.” said Shannon Smith, Hockley Valley Resort’s Director of Marketing. Julie Adamo, Vice President, Hockley Valley Resort said “I would like to personally thank everyone who assisted with the event, and a huge shout out to Team Hockley for making it such a success and everything we knew it could be. We are so happy to support Bethell Hospice, and give back to our community. Mark your calendars for April 2017, our 5th Annual Charity Fashion Show.”
