Artsploration celebrates grand opening of new studio location

After years of operating as a mobile art studio, and out of pop-up locations, Artsploration recently launched a new studio location in the heart of Orangeville.

On Friday (June 2), local dignitaries and community members attended the official ribbon cutting, and grand opening of the new Artsploration Children’s Creative Studio located at 72 Centennial Road, #5, Orangeville.

Attendees at the event included Orangeville Councillor Joe Andrews, Dufferin–Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones, and Keith Lowry from the Dufferin Board of Trade.

In March 2018, Owner and Chief Artsplorer Alison Malcolm founded the mobile art studio, whose goal is to provide unique opportunities for children to explore artistic freedom, while making their own creative choices at birthday parties, schools, community groups and events across Dufferin County.

“This year marks our fifth anniversary inspiring children to unleash their imagination,” said Alison. “The opening of our physical location is the realization of a lifelong dream to provide a safe, nurturing space for children to freely explore their creative process and the joy of art.”

The permanent location has allowed Artsploration to expand their services to include drop-in studio visits, infant playgroups, summer camp, and after school programming.

“It is our hope that by providing creative opportunities with a variety of open-ended art and sensory spaces, we inspire children to enjoy the process of making art, to take creative risks, and build self-confidence,” said Alison.
