Ed Brennan’s appointment as Orangeville’s Acting Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) has been extended for two years effective immediately, Mayor Jeremy  Williams announced Tuesday.

Orangeville Council appointed Mr. Brennan as Acting CAO last January after Mayor Williams disclosed that CAO Rick Schwarzer was taking a leave of absence, for reasons not disclosed at the time or since then.

Mr. Brennan has been with the Town since 2008, first as the Manager of Recreation Facilities and more recently as the Director of Parks and Recreation.

“Ed has been our Acting CAO since January 19th of this year and has proved himself as being more than effective and capable in this role,” said Mayor Williams. “Council and I have complete confidence that Mr. Brennan will continue to provide the leadership and management skills that will make our municipality stronger, more efficient, and responsive to our citizens.”
