Orangeville A’s done for the season

The Orangeville A's wrapped up the 2017 season with a playoff loss to the London Lightning on A's home court on Tuesday, May 9, at the Athlete Institue.

The Lighting took the series in three games straight.

Game one got underway in London on May 4, and ended with a 117-87 win for the Lightning.

The second game of the series on May 6, saw the Lighting take a 2-0 lead after winning 121-118 and setting up game three with a do-or-die situation for the A's.

In the final game the A's fell behind in the early going with the London team going ahead by eight points, 29-21, at the end of the first quarter

The second quarter had the A's in trouble with fouls and a hot London team hitting the hoops and taking as much as a 24 point lead in the quarter.

At the half the London team was leading 59-41.

The A's returned from the half-time break with an aggressive posture but missed several hoops and opportunities to put points on the scoreboard.

The fourth quarter saw the A's well behind with a short time to get back in the game or end the season.

The Lightning were leading 104-74 early in the quarter for a 30 point stretch.

The game ended with a 121-102 win for London to end the A's season.

The A's ended the season with an overall 16-27 record and a fourth place in the Central Divison of the NBLC.
