Update – Thieves make off with $1,400 in perfume

Crime Stoppers of Simcoe Dufferin Muskoka along with the Orangeville, South Simcoe and Barrie Police Service need public assistance to identify the suspects of the theft of thousands of dollars of merchandise from Shoppers Drug mart and Rexall locations Barrie, Bradford and Orangeville.

On Sunday, August 10, 2014 at approximately 12:10 p.m., two males and one female entered the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 25 Broadway in Orangeville. The three suspects attended the cosmetic area of the store. One suspect distracted a store employee while the other two suspects removed several bottles of perfume and cologne from the shelves concealing them in a back pack being carried by one of the males. The suspects purchased one bottle of perfume then left the store with approximately $1,400.00 worth of merchandise.

The same day suspects attended the Rexall pharmacy located at 520 Riddell Road Orangeville and made off with an undisclosed amount of merchandise. They were seen fleeing in 1992-1994 gold Dodge Caravan with noticeable rust on the lower half.

On Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 12:44 p.m. suspects attended the Shoppers Drug Mart on Holland Street in Bradford, ON. Four suspects attended the cosmetics area. Two suspects distracted the clerk while a male and female put $800.00 of VICHY skin care products in a bag.

Later that same afternoon the four suspects travelled to Shoppers Drug Mart at 420 Essa Rd Barrie where they again distracted the clerk and stole a large amount of perfume and cologne.

Barrie police advise that through their investigation they have learned that other Shoppers Drug Marts in Barrie were hit as well by the same suspects but the amount and description of loss is still under investigation.

Police are asking to speak with anyone who may have information regarding this incident and the identity of the suspects.
