Orangeville Police arrest and charge woman suspected of drug trafficking

Orangeville Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old female from Bothwell, Ontario with  multiple drug offences as the result of a tip from a local hotel.

On Wednesday, July 31, at about 3:00 p.m., police received a call from an employee of the hotel to report the discovery of three baggies of suspected drugs within dirty linens removed for cleaning from a room at the establishment. Just prior to the call to police, the hotel received a call from the previous occupant of the room indicating she had left some items behind that could not get wet and asked the staff to hold them for her return.

Employing undercover officers, Orangeville Police awaited the return of the occupant and at 7:46 pm, Jessica Allen, 19, of Bothwell came to the front desk where she was escorted to a secure area of the hotel to search her linens. She was subsequently arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids (Percocet) and possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule III substance (Psilocin).

She was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on September 9 to answer to the allegations.
